Before railroads or town squares, Tehachapi had Kuwa—the Nuwa people, known as Kawaiisu by neighboring tribes. They lived in rhythm with the land, gathering acorns, pinyon nuts, berries, and spring greens. This roast honors their legacy with a cup that’s bright, clean, and deeply rooted.
🌿 Gatuyaini Factory coffee comes from one of 19 washing stations in Kenya’s historic Othaya Cooperative Society, founded in the 1950s and now home to over 15,000 farmers. Grown just below 1,900 meters, this coffee is a testament to Kenya’s vibrant coffee heritage.
☕ Flavor Notes
• Cleanly spiced sweetness, delicate Earl Grey tea, grapefruit-toned citrus, dark honey, clove syrup, candied citrus, plum tea, tart orange, champagne grape, red fruit, Darjeeling tea, Meyer lemon, dried wildflowers. Light-medium roast highlights citrus brightness and layered complexity.
