Our Nicaragua Selva Negra – San Felipe is a beautifully balanced medium roast with a smooth, creamy body and gentle sweetness. Subtle citrus and floral brightness add complexity, while rich nutty and malty notes create a warm, satisfying finish.

At our medium roast, the sharper acidity found in lighter roasts softens considerably, making this an exceptionally approachable everyday coffee while still preserving the character of this special lot.

The Story Behind the Coffee

San Felipe is a prized parcel within the historic Hacienda La Hammonia at Selva Negra in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Situated on steep, shaded slopes in rich volcanic soil, it is among the farm's highest-altitude growing areas.

The San Felipe parcel has a particularly interesting story. After acquiring a small number of Geisha coffee seeds, Selva Negra established approximately 500 Geisha trees on this high-elevation plot and planted much of the remaining area with its best Caturra.

The coffee is hand-harvested at peak ripeness and fully washed using Selva Negra's environmentally conscious processing methods.
